Board Meetings Print E-mail

The Board typically meets six times per year, usually about every other month. The meetings are generally held in Salem, in the conference room at the Board's office. Board meetings typically last all day. The Board conducts its business at these meetings, taking action on and discussing licensing and compliance issues, rules, policies, and other new and old business. In addition to regularly scheduled meetings, the Board occasionally holds special meetings; either joint meetings with other entities, or work sessions, etc., to conduct business in addition to the normal work business of the Board or special emergency business that may occur. Those meetings may be held at locations outside of Salem.

During the regularly scheduled Board meetings, license candidates (both by exam and by reciprocity) sit for a jurisprudence examination (JE) at another meeting location in the same city as the Board meeting. Those that pass the JE sit with the Board for an oral interview. Following the oral interview and payment of registration fees, successful candidates become licensed to practice architecture in Oregon.
